Historia
En los años 1800's mucha gente de otros pueblos y ranchos del municipio de San Martin Hidalgo estaban buscando terrenos para sembrar en La Sierra de Quila. Un grupo de colonos encontraron esta mesa conteniendo quatro lagunillas (laguna chicas). Esta es la razon del porque llamaron este poblado ''Launillas''. Lagunillas tiene 143 habitantes.
History
In the 1800's many people of other towns and villages in the municipality of San Martin Hidalgo were looking for suitable farmland in the Sierra de Quila. One group of settlers found this mesa containing four small freshwater lakes. This is the reason why they named the town ''Lagunillas'' because lagunillas in Spanish means ''small lakes''. Lagunillas has 143 inhabitants.
